Hannah is a Programme Coordinator at DemocracyNext. She enjoys working at the intersection of research and practice, translating knowledge into action. She brings experience in communications and project management from her work with NGOs and government institutions across the United States, Europe, and Africa.
Hannah has contributed to the INCLUDE Knowledge Platform, fostering equitable knowledge-sharing partnerships between African and European policymakers and experts. She also worked with the Civic Life Project, a U.S.-based nonprofit that leverages digital storytelling to promote youth civic engagement. Her experience also includes projects on Wellbeing Economics in Policy and Practice and Connect for Global Change, an EU-funded initiative aimed at engaging youth on global challenges.
At DemocracyNext, Hannah combines her background in political science with a passion for creating more just and collaborative democratic systems. With an academic background in migration and diversity, Hannah is particularly passionate about ensuring democratic processes are accessible and inclusive. In her role, Hannah primarily focuses on the Cities Programme, collaborating with partner cities to deepen citizen participation and deliberation through citizens’ assemblies. She is especially drawn to the deliberative aspect of citizens’ assemblies, believing that deliberative democracy offers a powerful way to overcome divisions within current systems and foster more citizen-centred decision-making.
Hannah is from Kentucky, United States and is based in The Hague, The Netherlands. She speaks English and intermediate Spanish.
