David Van Reybrouck is a leading European intellectual, Flemish writer, archaeologist, cultural historian, poet, reporter, and pioneering advocate of deliberative democracy. He is Founder of the G1000, and his work has led to trials in deliberative democracy throughout Europe. He is also Chair of the Federation for Innovation in Democracy - Europe (FIDE) author of Against Elections: The Case for Democracy. He holds a doctorate from the University of Leiden, and an honorary doctorate from Université Saint-Louis in Brussels.
